Decision Time

Hello every one I am new to the forum so forgive an errors that I make. I have had a VB36 for some years now and have finally come to the conclusion that I either need to buy a tailstock for it or sell it and buy smaller standard type lathe. I am not a prolific turner just now and then and have never sold any of my work only ever given it away.
As I have had the VB some years I have no idea what is a fair price for one (serial No 1439) or what I should be paying for a second hand tailstock (if I can find one)
I would be grateful for any comments / advice

I also have a Big Green Monster and wouldn't part with it for any price, have a hunt for a tailstock, try some of the VB forums or contact the tool post as the uk importer for a new one.... Ouch

Yes, I agree. The moment you sell it you may regret doing so !

If I had a better lathe, I would be able to show my ineptitude more effectively.

You probably have one of the best lathes on the market. I would bide my time and look for a second hand tailstock, especially if new overly expensive.
Put it bluntly you have a Rolls Royce and your contemplating a Ford.
