Help with Poolwood Euro 2000 lathe

<< < (2/2)

Bryan Milham:
Steven,

I have the Poolwood 1500. Mark Hancock has the 3000 (I think), but I can tell you the are all 3 phase direct drive machines.

Any idea where or what went bang?, was it on the headstock, the motor connectors are under a removable cover on a square box on the far side of the motor.

If it was the single to 3 Phase converter, it will have come from the leg under the headstock as that is where it is situated.

Another thought would be the power cable connectors. If the insulation has rubbed through and 2 wires came into contact, that can cause a big bang and flash as well.

Please be safe, unplug but see if you can find anything amiss to photograph and show us.

The current Poolewood.co.uk is not the company that sold the lathes. The company was sold by Terry Davis who sold the lathes.
Terry has now retired.
