Resin and Pressure Pots

(1/2) > >>

ChrisAllwood:
Hi everyone,
I am a new member and I am also quite new to woodturning.

I am interested in doing some resin and wood work but don't have a pressure pot!!!

The ones online are for paint and have impellars which will obviously get in the way of whatever I put into the pot.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Does anyone know if there is a place to get one that is ready for resin casting?

Maybe someone has one they would like to sell?

Thanks in advance for your interest and I look forward to meeting many of you after the COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.

Chris

Lazurus:
I made mine from a paint pot - have a look on you tube about the harbour freight conversion into a pressure pot. Easy to do just a couple of fittings and a safety valve needed.

Chris, House of Resin in Wareham has everything you need for resin casting. However, it seems most turners use Glasscast 50 for wood. Glasscast comes in 3 sizes: 3, 10 and 50 which relate to the depth you can cast in one go. Stiles & Bates in Dover are recokoned to be the best source for Glasscast. There's also Eli-Chem Resin over near Godalming but I think they have mainly #3.

Hope this helps.
