Iridescent paints advice ?

<< < (2/2)

Derek:
I would go for a flow medium of some sort and not water. Water tends to make paints go transparent if thinned too much

Bryan Milham:
Jo Sonja Iridescent colours are coloured mica in an acrylic carrier. The carrier looks white but dries clear.

Chestnut Iridescent colours are coloured acrylic with mica added.

So as said above they both work differently. But I have used Jo Sonja on dark colours, specifically blue, as well as black.

Paul Hannaby:
Jo Sonja iridescent paints have no pigment. They are reaction paints. The different colours appear due to differing thickness of the particles causing refraction/reflection of different wavelengths of light.
