Here is another bowl I have turned out of a nice piece of Bocote (very expensive).

 A beautiful piece of timber with a grain thats got its own character, and you have done it justice by keeping the form simple and a really nie finish.

Like it loads.

I agree - that's a really good finish. And from it's placement (side table and lamp) has already been claimed by your SWMBO.

The bowl is about 6" dia and 4" deep - I have only seen Bocote in small blanks - this one cost me £15.99 from Yandle.

It doesn't come cheap, even at Yandle's price, I got most of my timber from them, lately from their shows, but by then most had been picked over and cheaper or best blanks had gone by the time I'm there ...   :'( ...

It might be expensive but you have made a great job of the bowl and what great finish.
