Lathe Identification

Alan Wallington:
Good Morning everyone.

I have been asked if I would do an ' oilily rag' renovation of an old lathe/multi woodworking machine for Amberley museum. Out of interest does anyone have any idea what it is. All I know is it has whitworth nuts and bolts!

Purely from the paint colour I would suggest an early Coronet, who were swallowed up by Record many yonks ago.

Alan Wallington:
Many 4hanks Brian, but I think the colour is lighter than a Coronet lathe. Initially I did wonder if it was an Arundel  lathe, I had a J4 sixty odd years ago, but now I am not so sure. I think the giveaway is the shape of the bed casting. The lathe part looks quite useful, but the circular saw bit is very micky mouse.

Looks to be a Perhays.
