Hello folks,

does anybody have any experience of removing the pulley from the mandrel of a Myford ML8? If so would you be so kind as to detail the procedure for a struggling turner? Not me, I should add!

many thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,
I have never done it myself but if he is having trouble getting the pulley off check that there are not 2 grub screws, one above the other.

Thanks for that. I had already suggested the same thing to him.

I've sent him to Tony at LATHES.CO.UK as there were no answers elsewhere.

cheers

I had 2 grubscrews holding my pulley on a coronet 2 - when I took them out, I found that the puley was firmly stuck on the spindle, so some wooden wedges and a hammer got it to move. Afterwards, before putting it back, cleaning the spindle helped as there was a build up of dirt/oil/debris on the spindle on either side of the pulley location --- good luck and persevere with it -- Bruce
