Hot Chocolate!

This is one of our new pots. We call her "Hot Chocolate".
Bradford Pear, turned and carved with pyroengraving and India Ink
She went to a new home a few days after she was completed. This is one I wish I could have kept! :'(
Thanks for looking,
Cynthia and Mike

That's what you'd call a Teapot .. TEA .. Hot Chocolate ..  ::) ..  ;D ..

Really nice work and detail. Well done.

Thank you for sharing.   David

The work involved in making something like this is beyond my ken. Yes I can understand the turning aspect, but then the fine detail if the applied art work. Where do you start with that.

I showed it to someone at work who was as amazed as I am,

It went to a new home within a few days - well no surprise there, and I'll bet it's well loved in it's new abode.

Thank you for the kind words, dr4g0nfly! Since I don't turn, I have have the time to put into developing my embellishments. Actually, the designs just come from my head. When working on a piece, I am usually inspired for the next. I hope each piece we do has a unique spirit and shows you a bit about us!

Cheers everybody for the nice comments!

I  really like the way you have added the strong burn lines to the main body and the swirl effect design to the lid. It all comes together in an  outstanding piece. Should sell like hot cakes

There's a pyrography page here on Facebook and I look at it occasionally.....there's loads of good stuff on it, especially some of the portraits, but nothing like this ever crops up. What makes Mike's and Cynthia's pieces so amazing is their uniqueness  -  nowhere else can you see the combination of two consummate skills in the one piece. It's stunning.
