I am not sure what wood that bowl is ( sycamore I think ?) but seeing as it is turned end grain  you have achieved  a good finish from both tooling and sanding and CA ... I can still hardly believe you use it as a finish , it must be pretty horrid to work with but the end results are good .... I am wondering how it will last over time , will it yellow or crack/craze ?

Superglue is a fairly common finish on small items like pens but I haven't seen it on larger stuff like this and the vase you showed before. I really don't see how you could get it on quickly enough.

By the way, it looks great  :)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

It's tree of heaven, I think the CA will hold up over time as they us it on pens, I'll let you know in 10 years time  :)

I love that Blue, you say water based, can I ask what make please.

I can't see anything wrong with the finish, you've got the CA finish cracked now by the looks of it.

Ed, one very pleasing form, color and finish ... you have done really well given an end grain bowl.

On the white cloth, had me thinking it shaded into Duck egg blue for the lower part.

tree of heaven is ring porous. that would be something like birch, horse chestnut, alder, willow or one of the acer's.
