What a belter! That bowl just oozes quality and has bags of character to boot. My only regret is that i can't handle it because it's got such a 'touch-me' appearance to it.

Here is a close up of the interior ( outside is natural olive Ash ) it is quite textured and really looks most spectacular with sun shining on it . Terry ..

Twig,
First thing I thought of when I saw it was Abalone Shell, the dark swerling colours of the nicre inside them. Looks great and such an affect.

What an amazing effect.
Do you go over the wood with a blow torch sand it and then start adding colours?
Love them both, top job

The way you have gone quite deep into the grain gives a much more textured and defined look.
The addition of the colour bringing in a different element to produce a very striking bowl.

These are something else. The effects are so tactile looking. Love 'em both.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
