This Bowl is Turned from Macrocarpa approx 10" x 4" colored with spirit stain and lacquered

the Green/Yellow - Yes defiantly, the brown of the rim I'm not so taken with I'm afraid.

I have never had the pleasure to turn Macrocarpa, so I am not sure what it looks like in the natural state be I love the green on this bowl.

Hi Bryan the rim is black it is the light making it look brown.

Hi Steve I like Macrocarpa but the smell when you are turning it can get a bit sickly.
I have put a picture of a Macrocarpa bowl unpainted somewhere

George, l considered saying that black would be a better rim colour but decided against it. As you say it must be a lighting effect.
