I would like to go but for the demonstrations I would need to sit near the front AND use a pair of binoculars. Some people are uncomfortable about being watched that closely ( as they perceive it ) ...... so I am still undecided.

I know you would be made most welcome Graham, and I would not as I am sure the other demonstrators, mind being watched by you with binoculars, there is always close up cameras of the tooling etc. Anything that helps, it would certainly be good to meet you instead of just knowing you from the forum.

Hello Graham,

does this help? Each presentation is shown on an enormous screen over the presenter. Bins would be fine too if needed :)

Thanks everyone. I have decided to go  :)
The big screen will help but the binoculars will still be needed.

Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Hi Graham, at previous seminars the demonstrators have used video cameras to project what they are doing on a large screen. I wonder if the organisers could extend that feed to another TV screen for you to sit in front of? Might be worth asking, even if you had to take your own TV.

I will be one of the stewards so may be able to say hello in person.

Hi

Sorry, but we can't extend the video feed to another screen as it's all fed through the University's system.

Cheers Dave
