I thought that I would start turning some of my part turned wood to make room for some more projects that I'm working on.
All are made from ash, I hope that you like them. Your c and c are most welcome

The large bowl is 5" high and 12" wide the vase is 7" high and 6" wide.
The three winged natural edge bowl is 6" high and 14" across, it was made from the trunk of a tree that had three branch's sticking out from it.
I'm now putting food safe on the bowls and finishing oil on the vase.
Many thanks for looking Les

I like them all but have to agree with the others. The vase stands out for me to.

Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

  • I’ve had my patience tested; I’m negative
'I had a full day in the workshop turning, does life get any better.' - yep, several full days in the workshop.

I also agree the shape of the Vase is spot on.

In fact all of the pieces look to have a good shape except the deep bowl. Having said that, as a utlitarian bowl for table use (salad or similar) it will probably excel due to it's stability.

A very nice selection of your work les... Thank you for posting...... Each piece having its own merits..... The simplicity of
the natural edge ones stand out for us... although not too keen on the clover leaf bowl sorry.

     Regards Tony & Di

Many thanks for looking and your kind words guys.

I like the sound of the clover leaf bowl Tony & Di and no need to be sorry if your not keen or do not like any of my work, I will always thank you for your honesty and take your advice on making a more pleasing to the eye shape.

 Many thanks one again Les

Stunning pieces, and for sure that to see the ash vase with an oil finish, will have made it pop .. such grain details brought out in it's elegant form.

Nice functional large bowl too. Nice collection overall.  Well done.
