This is my latest piece. It is hollow turned, and carved from one piece of Cherry and is 14" high x 5 1/2"dia x3/16"wall thickness. The rose was coloured with acrylics.

Did you use the Microplane tools when doing the neck of the Vase I tried this once after seeing Nikos Siragas.

Hi John, thanks for the comments. I used my router jig on the lathe to cut the initial grooves for the flutes the shaped with carbide burrs in the Dremel.

As ever Gwilym I am amazed by your skill and patience.
I'm not sure I like the colours - I think I would have preferred a more subtle tone. But that's just an opinion.
I think the idea and style is stunning.
