Spalted Alder Glued & Sand Blasted

Well not posted anything for sometime, been busy setting up my new studio (workshop, shed that sort of thing) Well now it's up and running I have just my hands on some over Spalted, wormy, rotten Alder so chucked everything at it worm killer, sanding sealer two 50ml pots of CA then decided to give it a full sand blasting.

This is the result 320mm x 150mm C&C's welcome it's sooooooooo good to be back at the lathe  :)

Hi Ed....good to see your work on here again, and good to hear that you're back in harness. I think that a lesser person might have recommenced work with a simpler piece of timber...you must enjoy a challenge!

   We were only saying yesterday how quiet it had become on here...... Then up pops Ed.... nice to see you back on the lath
   and turning again .... sounds like your workshop is an Aladdin`s Cave...We know you like a challenge and this is no exception
   certainly got the aged look.

Thanks for your comments to date all.

Nick I turned the chucking point and covered it in CA then just shaved it clean for the chuck. The chuck never came off again until the piece was finished.
