Large Oak bowl

This bowl (19"x 7") is from a very large lump of Oak that had been left in some woods for about 30 years, but still not fully seasoned but pretty dense and hard , the rim is the texture left behind by chainsaw cuts from felling and were purposely left after wire brushing , it is large rough and heavy as a reflection / tribute to its origin . Terry..

I've seen attempts at this before, and all too often it just looks as though the maker just couldn't be bothered to clean up the rim, but this one works well for me.

You've got more patience than I have.
But it looks like it was worth every day of the wait. My first thought was Brown Oak, but the colour must come from the fungal attack it underwent while waiting for you to come back. The colour and the texture you've left make me think it was made from an old oak beam found in a medieval barn somewhere.
