Hollow form conversion
« on: June 09, 2016, 09:48:21 AM »
This started out as a little hollow form but I slipped and the opening got shattered but not being one to waste wood I put it in my 'to be rescued box' which I am going through at the moment. It is definitely one that can be described as wieird by some perhaps most but must admit it makes me smile. Decided to call it mandarin for obvious reasons. Be interested to see if anyone actually likes it LOL.

Well, I do. It's quirky, granted, but in a nice way. Have you tried putting it on a much more polished base?

Thank you Fuzzy. It is on the shelf at the moment and will probably be moved around and put on different bases. Occasionally we get it right first time but more often it takes a bit of experimenting.

Pete, I liked the pot in the first picture. For all its disparate shapes it really pulls well together.

Then the second picture and the internal drop finial, makes the vessel totally impossible to use for anything. Great move, takes it from a lidded vessel to something much more in one simple step.
