A while ago I made a hollow form from a piece of cedar, stained green, with black and gold carved band running around the waist. It sold on its first outing at the Craft and Design experience, so I decided to make another.
The second one was made from ash, a bit smaller, and not having any cracks to play with, and I used orange colours instead of greens. Here's the result. I quite like the "dragon" idea, so I called this one "Dragon Egg", and I am pleased to say that it, too, sold on its first showing to the public last Saturday at the Chatsworth Country Fair.
I think I'll make a few more of these. As usual, all C&C welcome.
For comparison, I've also included a picture of the original piece (which was called "Here be dragons").
