Something different
« on: March 01, 2017, 11:23:19 AM »
One of my bread and butter lines is traditional crafting tools. These were ordered by a client. They are a navajo spindle, which is 30" long and traditionally used sittiing on the floor cross legged and a phang which is a spindle usually used in a support bowl. This is a type found in northern India. I have lost count of the different styles and types of spindles used around the world
C&C welcome as always
Pete

You're right about them being '....something different....'
Good opportunity for a bit of practice with the skew chisel.

And there was me thinking (from the first image) you'd been practising for a part in a William Tell play.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!
