One of the last entries

It has been a while since we asked you to work together to produce pieces for competition entry, so the AWGB is challenging our member clubs to produce and enter a collaborative diorama or display on the theme of Shakespeare, linked to our fabulous new Festival venue of Stratford-Upon-Avon. We’d like you to work together within your club to make this. Entries should involve work from at least 5 different turners in your club; the item should be predominantly wood of one or more species, and clearly made up of many pieces turned on the lathe – but some carving, sawing or other woodworking techniques are permitted. Colouring and texturing are also allowed.

As an incentive, we are offering a First Prize of £500, and a Runners-Up Prize of £150 to the best two entries received. Judging will be done by a panel drawn from the Festival demonstrators. You will need to get your entry to us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon by 12noon on Saturday 10th October – so why not book to attend the Festival while you are at it!
